A total waste. I love this series by Macomber but there's nothing really new or especially revelatory that we all couldn't pretty much get from the books themselves. In fact, most of this is rehashed FROM the books. Don't waste your money.
Falling For Her is a short story in the Rose Harbor series by popular American author, Debbie Macomber. It is written from the perspective of Jo Marie Rose’s cranky handyman and carpenter, Mark Taylor. When his workshop bench collapses onto his leg, breaking it, Mark finds himself somewhat dependent on Jo Marie, and he doesn’t like it one bit! When he analyses his feelings, he realises he has fallen for her, and decides that cannot continue. What a disappointment this short story is! Apart from giving the reader Mark’s perspective of events, in particular, the broken leg incident, it imparts nothing new, nothing that was not covered in the first three novels. And short, it is, at merely 30 pages, the balance being made up with a preview of the fourth novel in the series, Silver Linings. Diehard Macomber fans may not object to paying for this snippet, but to many readers this will smack of a money-making exercise. Save your hard earned money for something with more substance!2.5★s
This very short story is a tie in between books 3 and 4 of the Rose Harbor series. It explores the relationship between the handyman Mark and the inn owner Jo. It had no new information about their relationship and you wouldn't miss anything by not reading it. So it was ok - but not essential to enjoying and understanding the series
Macomber writes romance and women's fiction. She writes best selling novels and her Cedar Cove series has been turned into a Hallmark channel t.v. series. She has followed the Cedar Cove series with the Rose Harbor series. Her many followers and fans are delighted with the continuing story set in Cedar Cove, but focusing on Jo Marie, the innkeeper and Mark, her handyman. In this short story, we get to see how Mark deals with his growing attraction to Jo Marie. Once he realizes he has fallen for her, what will he do? Can he handle a relationship? Or will this end up being another disappointing relationship he can't come to terms with? Macomber gives life to this crochety old handyman with a sour disposition and a heart of gold.I enjoyed reading this short story, although I felt it ended rather abruptly.
Let me start by saying that I have read 3 of the 4 Rose Harbor books and I have enjoyed them very much..The reason that I am giving this book only 1 star is because IF you have read the books of the series thisone is both a waste of time and money... Really, Everything in this book has been covered in the other booksexcept one paragraph towards the end where Mark thinks ""I'd fallen for Jo Marie." and "I was in love when Iswore I would never let that happen." Which of course we know from the other books even if it had not been spelled out..
Great little short story to compliment the series.Mark Taylor came to Cedar Cove to leave his painful past behind him, and has spent the last few years keeping mostly to himself. But when he meets Jo Marie Rose, his world is turned upside down. She’s hired him to do carpentry projects around the inn, but for Mark, spending time with Jo Marie is a risk—to both his long-buried secrets and his carefully guarded heart. Then one day, he breaks his leg in his workshop and must turn to Jo Marie for help. And though he tries to keep his distance, Mark can’t deny how he feels drawn to Jo Marie—and how deeply he is falling for her.
It's short....very short. I love the author and the other book this was based on. But it was very short and not sure it was worth the 99 cents. I should have waited to see if the library had an ecopy of the book.
Mark Taylor is the handyman that Jo Marie uses at the Rose Harbor Inn when ever she needs odd jobs done. But Mark is unsure of his feelings for Jo Marie. That is until he has an accident in his workshop and breaks his leg.He finally realizes after Jo Marie leaves him alone for a couple of days that he really does need her and decides to go over to her open house. That is when he knows that he is falling in love with her.The story is short and well written as are all of Debbie's books but it is leading into her newest book Silver Linings. Which I am going to read when I finish a few on my TBR list.
